Have you settled on a mountain biking destination for this summer? Check out this Top 10 list by Singletracks.com. I can vouch for Downieville being a great destination for a mountain biking escape.
However, you need to seriously think about the surrounding area as well as Lake Tahoe is on the way to Downieville from Reno. You can fly into Reno in the morning and then be biking the Tahoe rim trail in the afernoon.
There are plenty of epic rides around Lake Tahoe. Then, after you’ve ridden some of Tahoe’s finest trails & survived the descents, you can drive about an hour to North on HWY 89 to Downieville and rip some of their famous trails.
You can easily have a weeks’ worth of riding Downieville and the trails around Lake Tahoe and not ride them all.
