South America Argentina Ski Update 2011

After a slow start to the 2011 South American ski season, the weather has been nothing short of sensational for the last month for skiing and snowboarding. I spoke briefly with Bob Witty of SASS Global Travel and he’s psyched at how the season has caught up so rapidly creating some super fine conditions right now.

SASS Global TravelI asked him “is there any inbound powder on the way?” & he replied “yes of course, there’s storms coming in all the time, its prime season. The best thing to do here is check the forecast for the up to date.”

The  SGT /Roxy  Womens Camp is coming up for the ladeis who want to take their charging skills to the next level. This session is led by Roxy’s own Robin Van Gyn & Erin Comstock.
Who’s Robyin? She’s been named one of Nissan Canada’s Coolest Canadian’s and also just so happens to rip major lines and drop big cliffs in the Whistler backcountry.
Erin is also a team rider for Roxy and lives in trains Salt Lake City after moving from Lake Tahoe. Featured on the cover of Transworld Snowboarding, Erin is one of the smoothest park riders you will find.
And recently SGT has partnered with Backcountry Access, which is one of the leaders in providing safety equipment for skiing and riding off-piste.
I couldn’t make it down to Argentina this year, but I told Bob I’m pulling out all the stops and should be able “X” off Argentina / Catedral my bucket list next summer 🙂
